The History of Honda cars

Unlike Ford, Hondas are not the that old, but they have been around for a bit. The automotive manufacturing company was established September 24, 1948. Honda has two founding fathers Sichorio Honda and Takeo Fujisawa. Originally, Honda didn’t make cars. They made motorcycles. The first motorcycle that was made by Honda was the “Dream D”. This motorcycle was released 1949, within the second year or Honda being established. The Dream D had a 2-stroke and a 98cc motor.

Honda got into racing in 1968. Because their motorcycles were fast, the made good racing motorcycles. Honda motorcycles can reach speeds up to 186 miles per hour. The Honda CBR 1100XX Blackbird reached 190 miles per hour! This is the fastest that a Honda motorcycle has ever gotten to! People like Honda motorcycles for their dependability and reliability. Like Honda cars, their motorcycles are very reliable. It has to with how Honda engines are built!

After making Motorcycles for a while, Honda began to release cars. The first car that Honda made was the N600. In 1976 the Honda Accord was born. Now if we look ahead into the future, we see the very first Hybrid Honda being introduced into the car world. This happened in 1999.

The next major advancement made to Hondas was the “Fuel Cell Technology” vehicle in 2008. This can generate hydrogen by using renewable sources. Fuel cell technology uses solar power! In September 2017 Honda’s first all electric car was made. It was called the Honda e. The Honda e is not yet released to America… and the chances of it being released to us, are slim to none.

How long does a Honda last?

How long are Honda made to last? Well, on average, your Honda should be retired when it has about 200,000 miles to 300,000 miles. At this point, your Honda may have reached a repair that would cost more than the car’s actual value.

Each Honda should last you about 15 -20 years. But, this will only happen if the proper maintenance is taking place. Oil changes every 5,000 – 7,500 miles, keeping up on your A service and B service. All of these are ways to keep your Honda lasting longer.

The Honda with the most miles is the 1991 Honda Accord EX. It got to 1.16 million miles! This Honda was passed down into a family for a couple of generations.

What repairs are typical on Honda vehicles?
Due to the fact that Honda is one of the most reliable vehicles on the market over the last 30 years, I would say preventative maintenance is the main repair that your Honda will need. This includes:

Oil changes — Oil changes need to take place every 5,000 miles to 7,500 miles. There are 4 different types of oil changes that you can get. One is a full-synthetic oil change. This is the more high end oil change options. Then there synthetic blend oil changes. Then, High millage oil and then conventual motor oil

A service — Honda A service includes: getting your oil changed, having a tire rotation, checking your tire pressure, and or having your tires replaced. All of these things should be done regularly!

B service— Honda B service is regular maintenance that comes every 7,500 miles.

Alignment — Hondas need there alignment to be done every two to three years. Alignment makes your cars tires aligned properly so that they hit the road at the correct angle. This makes you different straight and safe.

Transmission service — You need transmission service every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. Transmission service is basically a transmission fluid exchange. We first, drain your old transmission fluid, then we fill you car back up with new, clean Transmission fluid.

Timing Belt— Your Honda needs a new timing belt every 60,000 to 100,000 miles. Your timing belt controls parts of your engine. Your engine is key in your car operation. So, it is really important to have our timing belt changed when it is supposed to be.

Engine light — When your check engine light comes on, you must have it diagnosed as soon as possible. Your engine is key to your cars operation.

Tune up — Tune up is a replacement of wire, plugs, and any other thing that make up your Honda’s ignition system.

Hondas are one of the most reliable cars in the world. They are family cars, they are transpiration vehicles, and a lot more! Honda engines keep going. Honda’s will last you a while. There engine design, is the reason for that. Honda engines are built to last.

The reason that Hondas are so reliable is their design. Hondas are built with engines that can with hold a wear and tear driving on the harshest environments. Honda’s engines can survive cold weather, warm weather, and all of the above.

Have ever wondered why Hondas make such good race cars? It’s because of their reliability! They are ranked for the second most reliable cars ever!
