GMC repair in your future? GMC is an American automotive company. GMC first produced cars in Flint, Michigan. Today, they produce cars in North America all the way to Canada! GMC makes SUVs, pickup trucks, vans, and light-duty trucks. 
In January of 2021, GMC sold 60,258 vehicles. GMC makes many types of vehicles. The most popular GMC vehicle is the Sierra 1500 pickup. GMC sold 253,016 Sierras. The first Sierra was made in 1962. 
GMC was incorporated in 1911. It was founded by William C. Durant. GMC owns Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC. BMC is known for its truck-focused lineup of vehicles.

What is a typical GMC repair?

 Oil changes — Oil changes need to take place every 5,000 miles to 7,500 miles. There are 4 different types of oil changes that you can get. One is a full-synthetic oil change. These are the more high-end oil change options. Then there synthetic blend oil changes. Then, High mileage oil and then conventual motor oil 

A service — GMC A service includes: getting your oil changed, having a tire rotation, checking your tire pressure, and or having your tires replaced. All of these things should be done regularly! 

B service— GMC B service is regular maintenance that comes every 7,500 miles. 

Alignment — GMC repair includes an alignment being done every two to three years. Alignment makes your car’s tires aligned properly so that they hit the road at the correct angle. This makes you different straight and safe. 

Transmission service — You need transmission service every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. A transmission service is basically a transmission fluid exchange. We first, drain your old transmission fluid, then we fill your car back up with new, clean transmission fluid. 

Timing Belt— Your GMC needs a new timing belt every 60,000 to 100,000 miles. Your timing belt controls parts of your engine. Your engine is key in your car operation. So, it is really important to have our timing belt changed when it is supposed to be. 

Engine light — When your check engine light comes on, you must have it diagnosed as soon as possible. Your engine is key to your car’s operation. 

Tune-up — GMC repair also includes a tune-up. A tune-up is a replacement of wire, plugs, and any other thing that makes up your GMC’s ignition system. 

How long DO GMCs last?

How long are GMC made to last? Well, on average, your GMC should be retired when it has about 200,000 miles to 300,000 miles. At this point, your GMC may have reached a repair that would cost more than the car’s actual value. 

Each Honda should last you about 15 -20 years. But, this will only happen if the proper maintenance is taking place. Oil changes every 5,000 – 7,500 miles, keeping up on your A service and B service. All of these are ways to keep your GMC lasting longer.

The GMC with the most miles on it is the 2001 GMC Sierra tow truck. It had a total of 481,000 miles.
