Gateway Science Museum

The Gateway Science Museum is located at 625 Esplanade, Chico, CA 95926, in downtown Chico, California. The museum’s primary focus is more on kids with an emphasis on STEM-related topics like technology and math with hands-on science activities and exhibitions. Visitors of all ages are engaged in unique scientific, technological, and engineering experiences through interactive exhibits and activities.

Gateway Science Museum welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds who are inspired by science. It bridges the gap between academia and society, forming a tight collaboration between them. They want to encourage inquiry in all ages by promoting innovative and critical thinking, stimulating curiosity, and inspiring people of all ages.

The museum helps students excel in their future careers. The North State is served by STEM programming and outreach activities, which take place in seven to nine counties. Campus + Community Partnerships promoting STEM are essential in helping students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue careers in these fields. The Gateway Science Museum strives to create an environment where people of all ages and demographics are inspired by science through a partnership between CSU, Chico, and the community. The museum strives to enhance scientific literacy and lifelong learning by providing a stimulating experience for visitors as they mature into adulthood.

Ticket costs $7 for adults., $5 for kids ages 3-17, and free for all Chico State, Butte College students, and Gateway members.
