Audi history

The history of Audi all began with its founder, August Horch. August graduated from the Technical Academy in  Mittwedia, Saxony. After this, he worked for the engine construction portion of the Karl Benz company. In 1909, he established his own car company. He chose the Latin translation of his last name, Audi.

The first Audi car was the Audi type A 10/22. It was built in 1910. This vehicle had 22 horsepower. The first Hybrid Audi vehicle was the Audi Duo. This vehicle was made in 1989. Audi was the first European country to sell a hybrid.

In 2009, the first all-electric Audi vehicle was made. It was called the Etron. The Etron was a two-seater. Its motor was made by UQM motors company. Also, this vehicle was a 4 Wheel Drive electric car!

What are typical repairs on Audi vehicles?

Due to the fact that Audi is one of the most reliable vehicles on the market over the last 30 years, I would say preventative maintenance is the main Audi repair you will need. This includes:

Oil changes — Oil changes need to take place every 5,000 miles to 7,500 miles. There are 4 different types of oil changes that you can get. One is a full-synthetic oil change. These are the more high-end oil change options. Then there synthetic blend oil changes. Then, High mileage oil and then conventual motor oil

Clutch — Your Audi‘s clutch is replaced every 60,000 miles. It could last you up to 100,000 miles but that’s very uncommon. We recommend every 60k miles to ensure safety!

A service — Audi A service includes: getting your oil changed, having a tire rotation, checking your tire pressure, and or having your tires replaced. All of these things should be done regularly!

B service — Audi B service is regular maintenance that comes every 7,500 miles.

Alignment — Audi repair includes an alignment to be done every two to three years. Alignment makes your car’s tires aligned properly so that they hit the road at the correct angle. This makes you different straight and safe.

Transmission service — You need transmission service every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. A transmission service is basically a transmission fluid exchange. We first, drain your old transmission fluid, then we fill your car back up with new, clean transmission fluid.

Timing Chain — Your Ford needs a new timing chain every 60,000 to 100,000 miles. Your timing belt controls parts of your engine. Your engine is key in your car operation. So, it is really important to have our timing chain changed when it is supposed to be.

Cam phasers — Cam phasers should be replaced as soon as there is a sign of an issue.

Engine light — When your check engine light comes on, you must have it diagnosed as soon as possible. Your engine is key to your car’s operation.

Tune up — Tune-up is a replacement of wire, plugs, and any other thing that makes up your Audi‘s ignition system.

How long do Audis last?

Well, on average, Audis last up to 150,000 miles to 200,000 miles. This will happen with the right care and bringing your vehicle in for maintenance regularly.

Audis will last you 10-13 years. But, if you don’t take proper care of your Audi, this time could be shortened. Every 5,000 to 7,000 miles, your oil needs to be changed.

If you want your Audi to last, and it’s time for any maintenance you might need, bring your vehicle down to Tedious Repairs today! They can do oil changes, replace brake pads, and much more!

The Audi with the most miles on it is the B6-gen Audi A4. This Audi has 541,000 miles on it!

Jay from quora says:

My 1999 A4 was one of my most reliable cars. I bought it from its original owner (also a coworker) in 2006 and owned it until 2016. I got it with 130k on it and sold it with 246k, still running like a champ.
